Ondulations (Ripples)
Ondulations (Ripples)
In Ondulations (Ripples), lines spread like ripples across the surface of water. A large circle unfolds while a second point appears more subtly. Is it another ripple? A plant-like form? The beginning of an animal presence? The work deliberately leaves these associations open.
Created in watercolour on canvas prepared with an absorbent ground, the work explores transparency, diffused washes, and delicate textures punctuated with white. Across this soft, luminous surface, organic lines flow freely, intersecting and transforming as the eye moves through the composition.
Depending on its orientation, Ondulations reveals new tensions and new forms. Water, air, plant life, or an imagined presence: the longer one looks, the more possibilities the work begins to reveal.
