Lien Universel V (Universal Connection V)

Lien universel V (Universal Connection V) unfolds as a space of calm, where diffused light softens the contours. A tree with a curved trunk emerges through the mist, anchored in warm earth tones. The horizontal composition gives the eye time to wander and find a place to rest.

Created in 2013, the painting lets its foliage blend into the atmosphere. The mist softens the distance and draws attention towards what is close. Between the tree’s presence and the softness surrounding it, the work offers a space for contemplation.

Within the Gratitude collection, the Lien universel series expresses a desire to live fully in the present moment. The tree embodies its symbolism: the ground represents roots and knowledge; the trunk, the human body and its limitations; the foliage, thoughts, values and inspiration. The sky and its light evoke gratitude and hope, as well as the part of existence that lies beyond our control and that each person may understand through their own beliefs.

This intention to remain present guides the entire creative process. Each gesture, each breath follows an inner impulse, in dialogue with the possibilities and constraints of the materials. Diluted colour flows, its movement guided by turning the canvas, with close attention to the translucent layers as they emerge. Gesture by gesture, a space takes shape where we can finally settle into stillness and allow our own reflections to emerge.
