Lien Universel III (Universal Connection III)

Lien universel III (Universal Connection III) opens a space of light where the eye can rest. A golden mist envelops the composition, revealing a curved trunk, warm earth tones and softly blended foliage. Everything seems to come together gently, between a firmly rooted presence and what remains elusive.

Created in 2013, the painting allows the tree to unfold on the right, balanced by a broad opening of light on the left. Roots can be glimpsed through the colour, while the distance fades away. This softness invites us to slow down and give our attention to what is here, without needing to see further.

Within the Gratitude collection, the Lien universel series expresses a desire to live fully in the present moment. The tree embodies its symbolism: the ground represents roots and knowledge; the trunk, the human body and its limitations; the foliage, thoughts, values and inspiration. The sky and its light evoke gratitude and hope, as well as the part of existence that lies beyond our control and that each person may understand through their own beliefs.

This intention to remain present guides the entire creative process. Each gesture, each breath follows an inner impulse, in dialogue with the possibilities and constraints of the materials. Diluted colour flows, its movement guided by turning the canvas, with close attention to the translucent layers as they emerge. Gesture by gesture, a space takes shape where we can finally settle into stillness and allow our own reflections to emerge.
