La conscience de l'être (The Consciousness of Being)
La conscience de l'être (The Consciousness of Being)
La conscience de l'être (The Consciousness of Being) emerged from a central form, both dense and open, which the artist imagined as a vessel for life.
It evokes the body, but also a tree: something rooted in the earth, in our origins, our relationships, our history, and everything that forms our foundation. From these roots emerges a form in transformation, shaped by what inhabits us and by what flows between ourselves and the world — experiences, emotions, energy, inspiration, and spirituality.
Depending on the orientation of the artwork, this presence transforms. It may evoke a tree trunk, a body, a mountain, an arch, or a passage. At times, it seems to rise and open outward; at others, something appears to descend toward it, entering, circulating, or passing through.
The artwork can be displayed in four orientations. Each one offers a different reading of the same form, revealing another relationship between rootedness, the body, and the space that surrounds it.
Perhaps this, too, is the consciousness of being: a presence deeply rooted yet never still, continually shaped by what makes us who we are, what passes through us, and what we open ourselves to.
