Geste Éternel (Eternal Gesture)

Geste éternel (Eternal Gesture) invites viewers to explore what the mist allows us to glimpse. Forms reminiscent of trees and mountain terrain emerge in a gentle light, while branching lines and textures open paths for the eye to wander.

Inspired by Mont Saint-Hilaire, its forest and the fog that surrounds it, this work, created in 2009, would become an important reference point for the paintings that followed. It already brings together atmosphere and delicate detail, the pleasure of dreaming and the joy of discovery. It belongs to the Organic / Atmospheric Forms collection, while anticipating aspects of Stratis through its exploration of natural textures and landforms.

In its different orientations, the landscape changes. An ascent may become a passage, a shape may suggest a shelter. Between what appears and what slips from view, each viewer can follow their own paths and imagine what lies beyond the mist.

Eternal Gesture

On this misty day, I watch
The rising caress of fog upon the mountain.
Clouds gently ascending, patiently revealing
timid, bare branches.
Glimpses of forest steeped in their vibrant splendour.
Nature’s eternal gesture, an everlasting vision within my soul.
