Genèse (Genesis)

Genèse (Genesis)

Genèse (Genesis) evokes the beginning of a creative profusion: the moment when an idea, still undefined, begins to take shape and opens onto a world of possibilities.

At the heart of the composition, an enveloping structure resembling a cone, a flower’s calyx, or a cocoon appears to unfold. From its opening, floating forms with almost lace-like contours seem to emerge—or perhaps converge. Petals, wings, flames, or fragments of vegetation mingle within matter still in the process of becoming, leaving each viewer free to imagine what is seeking to be born.

Oranges, reds, and earth tones bring warmth, movement, and passion. Built through transparent layers, these colours overlap and transform, while blues and greens create a deeper sense of space and breath. The tip of the central form seems to reach toward this cooler, more expansive space, like a passage between a fertile inner world and an immensity still unknown.

The artwork can be displayed in four orientations. Horizontally, it suggests momentum, propulsion, or movement toward the unknown. Vertically, the forms seem instead to germinate, rise, or blossom. Each rotation renews this moment of creation, as imagination, matter, and movement give birth to new possibilities.
