Chatoiement (Shimmer)
Chatoiement (Shimmer)
Like two stones falling into still water, two points set movements in motion, spreading outward until they meet. In Chatoiement (Shimmer), two worlds — one bathed in yellow, the other in blue — seem to move toward one another, carried by delicate organic lines and forms that evoke both water and plant life.
Created in watercolour on canvas prepared with an absorbent ground, the work explores transparency, the diffusion of colour, and the precision of drawing. Despite the demands of this technique, the gesture needed to remain free, allowing the lines to flow, intersect, and continue their movement through space.
Chatoiement explores this moment of convergence, just before the encounter: two movements, two atmospheres, two presences beginning to come together.
