Auguste Présence (Majestic Presence)

Auguste Présence (Majestic Presence) carries the impression of a dreamlike forest, a space where forms seem to emerge from the light before dissolving into it once again.

When displayed horizontally, the work unfolds like a landscape through which the eye moves slowly. Forms suggest trunks, clearings, and passages, creating the feeling of moving through a place that is both familiar and imagined.

When displayed vertically, the composition takes on a different presence. It evokes a great old tree trunk rising upward, while the forms extending on either side suggest branches or ramifications. The landscape then becomes almost like a standing being—imposing and silent.

Forms appear and dissolve, as though they belonged more to memory than to reality. The work invites us not so much to recognize a place as to feel the presence that inhabits it.
