Aquaflor
Aquaflor
Aquaflor invites the viewer into an imaginary aquatic landscape where water, plant life and light seem to merge. Forms suggesting algae, coral or suspended organisms intertwine within invisible currents.
Created in 2007, the work marks an evolution in the acrylic technique. Beginning with a free and instinctive gesture, the composition develops through a dialogue between the unpredictable nature of the medium and deliberate choices involving erasure, transparency and depth.
The colour seems illuminated from within, as though light were passing through both water and living matter. Some forms emerge into the foreground, almost tactile, while others dissolve behind veils of colour. Darker areas open mysterious passages, while the curves draw the eye into the movement of the composition.
The work can be displayed in four orientations. With each rotation, the currents shift direction and this ever-changing organic world is renewed.
