Forms suggest trunks, clearings, and passages, creating the feeling of moving through a place that is both familiar and imagined.

When displayed vertically, the composition takes on a different presence. It evokes a great old tree trunk rising upward, while the forms extending on either side suggest branches or ramifications. The landscape then becomes almost like a standing being—imposing and silent.

Forms appear and dissolve, as though they belonged more to memory than to reality. The work invites us not so much to recognize a place as to feel the presence that inhabits it.

The artwork can be displayed in four orientations, each offering a different reading of the composition.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0736/2812/3378/files/10-6012-AugustepresenceIMG_26342400PXtini.jpg?v=1779829151
